About The Winnelspot - Amy Schmitz

I don't like to write, but I love photography. Perhaps it's from my newspaper days surrounded by photojournalists. I am no longer a copy editor, but I care about written language, so please e-mail me about any typos on my pages!

On my days off I tend to sew my own clothes (and an occasional garment for my husband). I also run. A lot. We travel often, mostly in the western United States and always with our canine family. These subjects are what you'll find most frequently in my photos. Enjoy, and feel free to leave feedback, comments, and questions.

At the end of 2016, we moved to Bainbridge Island, Wash., from Kansas City, Mo. You'll find photos of that journey here as well.

I began this site when Google began shutting down its Picasa service. If you'd like to see any of my photo albums from before March 2016, you can now find them here.

If you'd like to receive a notification from me when I post new photos, click the e-mail link at the top of this page, and ask me to add you to my e-mail list.

That's me! With my husband, Mikey, my running buddy Winston (and his notable Winnelspot), and our old girl, Stinkie Dog, in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Colo., on July 4, 2015/Photo taken by a kind stranger who took payment in form of dog cuddles.

Happy 16th anniversary to Mikey and me! We celebrated with a long Memorial Day weekend to Portland. <br />

The drive is about 3.5 hours from home, so much shorter than our old long-weekend drive to Denver (almost nine hours from K.C.). Plus we get mountains AND beaches!

A more updated family portrait from May 26, 2018. We adopted the little Tully monster two months before.
